Mijas is a pretty, typically andalusian village situated in the hills overlooking the coast and Fuengirola eight kilometres away. On a clear day it is possible to see the Rock of Gibraltar and mountains of North Africa.
The village has much charm with its narrow cobbled streets and little whitewashed houses. There are many small shops selling leatherwork, pottery, gifts, etc., as well as many restaurants and bars.
There is a small bullring adjacent to beautiful gardens with look-out
points to the coast and mountains. Nearby are several interesting churches
and a museum.
For those wishing to venture further afield Marbella, Puerto Banus, Benalmadena Marina are all a short drive away. Ronda, Gibraltar and Granada are all possible as day trips.
For golfers there are many top quality courses within easy reach.
